Tact – 21 Days Later

September 8th, 2010 by Bob Burg

Good morning. 21 days ago we brought up the concept of tact and discussed how very important it is in terms of success when dealing with people. And, since most of life involves dealing with people…well, it seems like a skill that would behoove each of us to master.

We ended with a challenge that we would meet back here in three weeks- after focusing on practicing tactfulness and being more tactful – and see how we did?

10 days after that post, we looked at a few back articles just to provide some food for thought.

And, now…it’s 21 days later?

Any thoughts, comments or results you’d like to share?

    Hi Bob,
well… did I make any progress, maybe not for me to say. But one thing is sure, you made me think about it on a daily basis. As a result, I have changed some wording with my potential customers, even if the ones I was using before were those I was taught to use and are scientifically correct. Still a long way to improvement though!
    Have a nice day.

Sounds as though you are indeed progressing, Nadia. One thought: although the words you use are very important, the way you say the words is important, as well. So, don’t discount (out of hand) the words you were taught to use if there is a legitimate reason for using them. What you would want to do, however, is to make sure you are communicating those words in a tactful manner. Again, since I don’t know what the words are, or their context, I’m really not “advising” either way other than for you make sure all is in context. :-) Thank you, my friend.
