Mark Sanborn’s Powerful Value Formula

October 11th, 2012 by Bob Burg

Mark SanbornPerhaps the word is used so often it can begin to sound trite. Yet, in a Free Market economy, it’s the key to every successful, mutually-beneficial exchange. And, that is “value.”

In this brief chat with Mark Sanborn, CSP, CPAE, author of mega-bestsellers including The Fred Factor, he shares a very simple formula for understanding this very important concept, and making it work both for you and those to whom you are providing your exceptional value.

Enjoy Mark’s wisdom. (Unfortunately, the audio quality is less than stellar. Please forgive me.)

How can you apply Mark’s V = E + E + SE formula in your business?

    Bob,

I expected real value from Bob Burg and Mark Sanborn. Two great guys giving us something extra every time we hear from them. As always Bob I appreciate you bringing information to me / us that we can take action on. I am going to mention a year of success.com on my radio show this Saturday.

What a timely reminder. I remember Mark covering this off during the Go-Giver Retreat (was that 5 years ago?).

Great reminders on how to deliver value. Clarifying expectations and education are so powerful.

Also reminded me I am behind on my reading AND on watching videos from A Year of Success.

I think I need a job where I read, learn, coach, consult and share what I learn with others.

Wait a sec, I might already have that job now.

    Thanks Bob and Mark!

Doug: Yes, 5 years or 5 months…something like that. :-) And, yes, you have that job already, and you’re VERY good at it! :-)

I like the comment Mark made, “when you educate the customer you immediately create value.”

Sophia: Indeed, wasn’t that a great point?! Thank you for your comment!

Thanks Bob and Mark, The V=E+E+SE is so simple but often overlooked. If you leave any part of the formula out, you are just like everyone else. I enjoyed being reminded that adding “Something Extra” as a pleasant surprise bonus can increase the perceived value drastically. Thanks!

Jim: Thank YOU. Great points, all!
