During the recently held Extreme Business Makeovers event, I had the honor of being onstage with the great, Zig Ziglar himself, along with Mrs. Jean “The Redhead” Ziglar, proud son, Tom Ziglar, mega-successful entrepreneur, Howard Partridge, and my great friend, XBM Creator, Thom Scott as Zig delighted the crowd with his wisdom.
At one point, Howard Partridge asked me to recount the time more than 25 years ago when, as a struggling beginning salesperson I invested in a set of Zig’s tapes (yes, children, back then audio programs actually came on cassette tapes) 🙂 that I could not afford, and which totally turned around my sales career.
A touch of laryngitis aside, I was honored to repeat a small part of this great man’s teachings right in front of the man himself. I hope you enjoy it.
And, remember, Zig will see you; and yes…he does mean you!…At The Top!

Bob, I had heard your Zig imitation when I attended one of your Atlanta presentations a couple of years ago. Thought it was a classic, and I’m delighted you were able to demonstrate your vocal artistry in the presence of “the man” himself.
Also, the advice you provide here is terrific.
Now. . .when will we hear your spot-on Rodney Dangerfield imitation?
Can’t seem to wipe the smile off my face Bob – could you possibly have any more charisma?! Love it! Kicking myself for not being there.
Thank you, Dr. Bill. Much appreciated. It was definitely a thrill for me to be on the same platform as the Ziglar Family and to be able to share with Zig himself just how much his teachings have meant to me throughout my career and adult life. Regarding Rodney…that one just doesn’t come up as much (“no respect, I tell ya’, no respect”) 🙂
Deb, thank you. That is very kind of you to say! And we did indeed miss you at XBM! 🙂
Bob – Your recitation of Zig’s words to Zig and the crowd at Extreme Business Makeovers 2010 was the highlight for me of that fantastic 3-day event. I had heard you imitate Zig in previous presentations and was so very delighted you were able to do it on the day Mr. Ziglar was with us. What a thrill for you and the crowd, all of whom love you! ~Peg
So glad I clicked your link on Facebook to watch this, Bob. Very timely! Absolutely loved your energy, amazing Zig imitation, and the priceless nugget you delivered here. Thank you!
This was an absolutely priceless moment my friend. This was one of the highlights of the seminar. And that as anyone who has ever attended an Extreme Business Makeovers Seminar before knows that’s saying a lot! Because the entire event is a highlight in and of itself.
I appreciate you my friend,
Josh
Love it, love it, love it! My friend and mentor, Ryan Biddulph, shared an interesting link to a colleague’s blog on “paying the price,” which reminded of one of the catchy little tunes in Zig’s original “Born to Win” seminar (just picked it up from Nightingale-Conant in time for the New Year!) You may remember a song titled “Enjoy the Price” (IOW, Enjoy the Benefits vs. Dwelling on the Costs/Sacrifices.)
While I was googling for a vid of the song, I came across this blog post, and it made my day! Passing it along. As a fellow native Mississippian who grew up not too far from Zig’s hometown of ‘Zoo City, I can honestly say I’m impressed with your impression 😉 Here’s to a Fit-n-Fabulously Prosperous 2011 at the Top!! Cheers ~ Penne and the CanDo! Crew
Penne, thank you for your kind comment. Ryan’s a great guy; you’re very fortunate to have him as a mentor, as he is to have you as a protege. So glad you enjoyed the post. Wow, you grew up near Zig’s hometown…that right there is special!! And thank you for your kind words on the impression. It’s a result of listening to his audios over and over again and being so touched by him and his amazing message. Awesome 2011 to you!
P.S. One tiny note to correct my grammar (reminded *me*) and take this opportunity to check the box for email notifications, y’all 😉 HAND-pda

Looks like we were composing at the same time, Bob 😉 I’m doubly blessed to be in such a
FANTASTIC circle of friends and mentors! Gotta love these Divine “coincidences” letting you know you’re still on the right track 😀 All the best from one night owl to another ~
LOL. Thank you, Penne. You Rock, my new friend!
Awesome as Always and Zig Ziglar impacted many many people’s life… As you are… Great men indeed…
